Senior year collections from first day to graduation

Senior year photos get requested again and again: for senior night, the graduation slideshow, the yearbook and the 10-year reunion. A senior year collection gathers them as the year happens, with names attached so nobody has to guess later.

Why it matters

Senior photos scatter just when they matter most

Senior sunrise is on one phone, senior night on another and prom is with the yearbook staff. In May, the person building the graduation slideshow has to collect everything again under deadline.

Ideas for Senior Year Collections

A folder for each graduating class

Name it by class year, like Class of 2027, and nest each milestone inside.

Senior sunrise and first day

Capture the start of the year so the graduation slideshow has a true beginning.

Senior night for every activity

Include band, theater and spring sports, not only football.

Awards and scholarship nights

Save award winners with their names and award titles in the captions.

Childhood photos from families

If your slideshow uses baby photos, collect them in one folder with each student’s name.

Graduation day itself

Keep the ceremony, the walk and the cap toss in a final folder that closes out the class.

How it works with Media Management

Senior Year Collections, step by step.

Three steps

  1. Open a class folder in the fall

Create a folder for the graduating class with nested folders for each milestone you plan to cover.

  2. Upload as each milestone happens

Staff, coaches and yearbook photographers upload batches after each event and add names, dates and tags.

  3. Search the class for every project

Search by student name, event or a description of the photo, preview it and download the size the slideshow or yearbook needs.

Setups vary by school; your demo confirms what yours will use.

Best practices

Tips to get it right.

Senior Year Collections tips

  1. Track who is missing

Keep a roster handy and note seniors without a good photo. Fill the gaps before May.

  2. Collect family photos early

Ask for childhood photos in winter, not the week before graduation.

  3. Respect opt-outs in the slideshow

Tag photos with use limits so the slideshow builder can spot them, and follow your school’s photo-release records.

  4. Keep the class folder for reunions

Ten years from now, the reunion committee will ask for these photos. Leave them labeled.

Questions

Senior Year Collections questions

Rocket gives each graduating class a folder with the year’s milestones nested inside, filled through batch uploads from staff. Names, dates and captions stay with every photo, so slideshows, yearbooks and reunions can draw from the same set.
