A Monday morning recap of last week’s results

Plenty happens between Friday afternoon and Monday morning that most students never hear about. A weekly recap of scores, meet results and competition finishes puts every team and club on the same screen when students walk in on Monday.

Why it matters

Results scatter across a dozen accounts

Each team posts its own scores on its own social account, if it posts at all. Robotics, debate and the academic team rarely make the announcements. Students hear the football score and little else.

How it works with Digital Signage

Weekly Results Recap, step by step.

Three steps

  1. Collect results by Sunday night

Ask coaches and advisors to send results to one person or add them to a shared Google Slides deck.

  2. Link the recap deck once

Connect the deck to the timeline a single time. Each Monday’s edits reach the screen at its next refresh, which comes about every 20 minutes.

  3. Put it first on Monday

Drag the recap to the front of the timeline to start the week. Hide it on Friday until the next recap is ready.

Setups vary by school; your demo confirms what yours will use.

Tips to get it right.

Weekly Results Recap tips

  1. Report losses too

Students trust a recap that’s honest. A close loss is still worth sharing.

  2. Use the same layout each week

A set template makes the recap faster to build and easier to read.

  3. Name a recap owner

One person, often in the athletic office or a student media class, keeps it consistent.

  4. Share credit across activities

Aim for a mix of athletics, arts and academics every week.
